I’m heading out to ShmooCon 2006. I’m arriving in Washington DC on Wednesday the 11th, and departing on Sunday the 12th. I’m arriving early in case the weather closes in. Washington doesn’t cope with snow well. What they call a blizzard would shutdown the city for two days. In Ottawa, the same thing doesn’t affect your commute to work.
For those that don’t know it, and I’m sorry to say I didn’t until recently, ShmooCon has a significant BSD content. For example, I know the following BSD people are heading there:
- Dru Lavigne
- Isaac Levy
- Richard Bejtlich
- Samy Bahra
- Tom Rhodes
- George Rosamond
- Marc Spitzer
And those are just the people I know *that* I know are going. I am sure there are others that I’ll meet up with there. See you at SchmooCon.
[Yeah, this post is just the same as the one on another blog, but it’s late, I’m sleepy]
if it was me i’d stay home and follow the results, esp if
it was short notice and january!! (i don’t fly anywhere…) BTW if
anyone reading this comment maintains /ports/, how easy
would it be to put a file in the tree:
#cat category/port/leveldata
# this port builds best with the following ports first:
# 1… port, port2, port3 versions (….) or later
# 2… port, port2, port3 versions (…) or later
# this port is a LEVEL 3 port
weekly pursuing freebsd-questions and the forums, someone
has major upgrade problems maybe solved by putting that
info where it can be readily available…
