I shut down the server about 24 minutes ago. Happy shipping.
At 10:30am EST, the server will be shut down and deracked. Then it will be shipped to Austin. Donations for shipping are doing well. Thank you. I know the new IP block, the router, and the DNS servers. I have already amended the following files: /etc/rc.conf – ifconfig aliases, defaultrouter /etc/pf.conf – host IP addresses

The FreshPorts website has moved. It was at 216.168.29.4 and is now at 64.147.113.42, on the other side of the country. If your DNS is lagged, you will be redirected from http://www.freshports.org/ to http://beta.freshports.org/. Once your DNS catches up, you won’t be directed. This wonderful solution is accomplished with this directive on the old website:

When people ask me about packages versus ports, the one main advantage of ports over packages is the ability to set the configuration options. To set the configuration options for a given port, issue this command: make config Configuration options are stored in /var/db/ports. For example, the options for sysutils/bacula-server are: $ less /var/db/ports/bacula-server/options #
